Rethinking Things…

Hi Everyone!  If you’ve ever visited my house, or heard me talk about my house, you know that I’ve dealt with removing a lot, I mean A LOT of bad wallpaper.

There was bad wallpaper that I either removed or just seal gripped, used wall mud for the seams and painted over (check that out here) in , oh, 90% of the house.

Let’s take a trip down wallpaper memory lane….

I don’t recommend a step-stool and cooler as a safe method of wallpaper removal.

All of the rooms above have been painted since these pictures.  However, the kitchen, powder room, and hallway still have wallpaper, but it’s all wallpaper I can live with…for the moment.

But I’m starting to have second thoughts about all of my wallpaper removal…  Even though I couldn’t  live with the wallpaper pictured above, wallpaper is a pretty chic thing!

Check out this ultra cool Scalamandre Zebras wallpaper, how perfect for a powder room?!

….AND I could go on and on with other wallpapers I’m crushing on!  My point is, even though I’ve removed/painted over a ton of wallpaper in my home, I still REALLY love wallpaper.  I might just need to update the powder room with one of these pretty little numbers.

What do you think?  Do you love wallpaper?  Where would you use it or where have you used it in your home?

Hopefully I’ll be back shortly to share my updates in the piano room.  The bay window curtain connectors I ordered came in the wrong size, major bummer.  But I can’t wait to share my new curtains set up!  I’ll give you a hint… it involves lucite!

  • Cute Upstairs Bedroom I am so excited about how this bedroom turned out! Here are a few before shots. Cute but the curtains covered up the windows and the border wall paper was too 80s.  Although, I actually liked the tulip tree wallpaper, I figured get rid of it all while I’m at it. I used my trusted technique of NOT [...]
  • Guest Room Refresh Hi!  I have been hard at work getting our upstairs bedrooms refreshed before we have guests visit next week.  First, let me share the before photos of the south side bedroom. • It’s All About The Little Thing... So our house is old, like really old, and has had plenty of facelifts over the years (and let’s face it, updates still need to be done). The back half of our home (the kitchen, powder room and Ryan’s office) is probably the most recent area to receive a huge remodel.   The previous owners did a FANTASTIC job with [...]
